Ingredients

Scale

Corn and Oil

  • 6 ears of corn, husked and cleaned
  • Oil spray (olive oil or avocado oil)

Cajun Butter Seasoning

  • 6 tbsp butter
  • 1.5 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • 3/4 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp brown sugar
  • 3/4 tsp cayenne pepper (adjust for heat preference)
  • 1/4 tsp cracked black pepper

Instructions

  1. Prepare Corn: Husk and clean each corn cob thoroughly. Cut each ear into 3-4 bite-sized pieces, about 1.5 inches each, for easy cooking and eating.
  2. Arrange Corn in Air Fryer: Place the corn pieces in a single layer in the air fryer basket to ensure even cooking. Lightly spray the corn with your choice of oil to help crisp and prevent sticking.
  3. Initial Air Frying: Preheat the air fryer to 400°F if your model requires preheating. Cook the corn for 5 minutes to start the roasting process and develop a slight char.
  4. Flip and Oil Again: Flip the corn pieces to the other side, spritz lightly with oil again, and cook for another 5 minutes at 400°F to continue browning evenly.
  5. Finish Cooking: Continue cooking the corn, flipping and rotating as needed, for an additional 1-2 minutes per side until the corn is golden brown and crisp on all sides. Total cook time is about 13-14 minutes.
  6. Prepare Cajun Butter: In a large bowl, melt the butter in the microwave for 10-15 seconds. Whisk in the Cajun seasoning, paprika, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, dried parsley, thyme, oregano, brown sugar, cayenne pepper, and cracked black pepper until smooth and well combined.
  7. Toss Corn in Seasoning: Immediately transfer the hot cooked corn from the air fryer to the bowl with the Cajun butter mixture. Toss thoroughly to coat each piece evenly, using a spoon or basting brush to get the seasoning deep into the crevices.
  8. Serve Warm: Serve the Cajun corn warm, ideally with ranch dressing or your favorite dipping sauce for added creaminess and flavor contrast.

Notes

  • Adjust cayenne pepper to control the heat level to your preference.
  • Use olive or avocado oil spray for a healthier fat option and better air frying results.
  • Ensure corn pieces are cut evenly for uniform cooking.
  • Serve immediately for the best crisp texture; leftovers can be reheated but may soften.
  • Pairs well with grilled meats, burgers, or as a spicy snack on its own.
