  • ½ cup vodka

White Layer

  • 0.5 ounce unflavored gelatin (two 0.25 oz packets)
  • ½ cup cold water
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 14 ounces sweetened condensed milk
  • ½ cup vodka

Red Layer

  • 3 ounces cherry jello
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • ½ cup cold water
  • ½ cup vodka

Additional

  • 60 1 oz disposable cups with lids
  • Star sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your workspace. Arrange 60 1 oz disposable cups on a tray or baking sheet, ensuring there is enough room to fit them into the refrigerator for chilling.
  2. Make the blue layer. In a large measuring cup or bowl with a spout, dissolve 3 ounces of berry blue jello into 1 cup of boiling water by whisking until fully incorporated.
  3. Add liquids to the blue jello. Stir in ½ cup cold water and ½ cup vodka, mixing well to combine.
  4. Pour the blue layer. Carefully fill the cups approximately one-third full with the blue jello mixture.
  5. Chill the blue layer. Place the tray with filled cups into the refrigerator and allow the blue layer to set for about 30 minutes until firm.
  6. Prepare the white layer gelatin. In a measuring cup or bowl, sprinkle 0.5 ounce unflavored gelatin over ½ cup cold water and let it swell for 5 minutes until thickened.
  7. Dissolve the white layer gelatin. Stir in 1 cup boiling water into the gelatin mixture until completely dissolved.
  8. Add the creamy components. Mix in 14 ounces of sweetened condensed milk and ½ cup vodka, stirring well and letting the mixture cool slightly.
  9. Pour the white layer on blue. Pour the white gelatin mixture gently over the set blue jello in each cup until they are about two-thirds full.
  10. Chill the white layer. Return the tray to the refrigerator and chill for another 30 minutes until the white layer sets firmly.
  11. Make the red layer jello. In another large measuring cup or bowl, dissolve 3 ounces cherry jello in 1 cup boiling water by whisking until dissolved.
  12. Add liquids to the red jello. Stir in ½ cup cold water and ½ cup vodka until combined.
  13. Pour the red layer. Carefully fill the remaining space in the cups with the red jello mixture, topping off each cup.
  14. Chill the red layer. Refrigerate the completed jello shots for approximately 2 hours, or until fully set.
  15. Optional decoration. Sprinkle star-shaped sprinkles on top of the fully set jello shots to enhance the patriotic theme.
  16. Serve. Secure lids on each cup to keep the shots fresh and ready to serve at your celebration.

Notes

  • Use a measuring cup with a spout to make pouring each jello layer easier and less messy.
  • Allow each layer to fully set before adding the next to prevent blending of colors.
  • Chilling times may vary slightly depending on refrigerator temperature.
  • Star sprinkles are optional but add a festive touch.
  • These jello shots contain alcohol; please consume responsibly and keep out of reach of minors.
  • You can adjust the vodka quantity slightly to suit your preference, but too little may affect setting.
