A flavorful and easy one-pan baked dumplings recipe featuring tender dumplings baked in a creamy, spicy coconut curry sauce, topped with fresh herbs and crunchy garnishes for a satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Scale

Dumplings

  • 1420 Frozen Dumplings

Sauce

  • 3 Tablespoons Red Curry Paste
  • 3 Tablespoons Soy Sauce
  • 2 Tablespoons Sesame Oil (or oil of choice)
  • 1 (14-ounce) can Coconut Milk
  • 2 teaspoons Fresh Ginger, minced
  • 2 Garlic Cloves, minced
  • 1 Tablespoon Rice Vinegar
  • 2 Tablespoons Honey (or real maple syrup)

Toppings

  • Cilantro, for garnish
  • 2 Green Onions, sliced
  • 1 to 2 Tablespoons Chili Crunch
  • Sesame Seeds
  • Baby Spinach (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a medium baking dish or an ovenproof skillet to prevent sticking.
  2. Make the Sauce: In a bowl, whisk together coconut milk, red curry paste, soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, minced fresh ginger, and minced garlic. Taste and adjust seasoning by adding more soy sauce for saltiness, rice vinegar for brightness, or more curry paste for extra spice.
  3. Arrange Dumplings: Place the frozen dumplings in a single layer in the greased baking dish, ensuring they have space to cook evenly.
  4. Add Sauce: Pour the prepared sauce evenly over the dumplings, making sure they are mostly covered with the liquid to allow thorough cooking.
  5. Bake Covered: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes, letting the dumplings steam and cook through.
  6. Bake Uncovered: Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 5 to 10 minutes, or until the sauce is bubbling and the dumplings are tender and cooked through.
  7. Add Spinach: If using baby spinach, immediately top the hot dumplings with the fresh spinach so it wilts slightly from the residual heat.
  8. Garnish and Serve: Garnish generously with fresh cilantro, sliced green onions, sesame seeds, and chili crunch for a burst of flavor and texture before serving.

Notes

  • Use frozen dumplings directly from the freezer; no need to thaw before baking.
  • Fresh ginger can be substituted with ½ teaspoon ground ginger if needed.
  • Adjust the amount of red curry paste and chili crunch according to your spice preference.
  • Baby spinach is optional but adds a fresh, nutritious element to the dish.
  • Serve with steamed rice or noodles for a complete meal.
