Jalapeno Popper Crescent Rolls are a deliciously cheesy and spicy appetizer consisting of crescent roll dough filled with a creamy mixture of pepper jack cheese, cream cheese, and diced jalapenos. Ingredients

Scale

Cheese Filling

  • 8 ounces Cabot Pepper Jack Cheese, shredded
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 4 ounces can diced jalapenos, drained
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Dough

  • 16 ounces crescent roll dough (two 8-ounce cans)

Topping

  • ¼ cup butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 375°F to prepare it for baking the crescent rolls.
  2. Prepare cheese filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded Pepper Jack cheese, softened cream cheese, drained diced jalapenos, and salt. Stir thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated to form a smooth, spicy cheese mixture.
  3. Roll out dough: Lay out both cans of crescent roll dough on a flat surface and firmly press the perforations together to create two large sheets.
  4. Spread filling: Evenly distribute the prepared cheese and jalapeno mixture over each sheet of crescent dough, spreading it out to the edges.
  5. Roll up dough: Starting from the short side of each dough sheet, roll tightly to encase the cheese mixture, forming two rolls.
  6. Slice rolls: Using a serrated knife, cut each roll into 8 approximately 1-inch thick pieces, yielding a total of 16 rolls.
  7. Arrange rolls: Place the sliced rolls evenly in a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, spacing them to allow expansion.
  8. Apply butter glaze: In a small bowl, mix melted butter and garlic powder thoroughly. Brush this mixture evenly over the tops of all rolls for flavor and browning.
  9. Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 28-30 minutes or until the rolls turn golden brown and cooked through.

Notes

  • For less heat, rinse the jalapenos before draining or reduce the amount used.
  • Make sure cream cheese is softened for easier mixing.
  • Use a serrated knife to cut the rolls cleanly without squishing the filling.
  • Serve warm for the best flavor and texture.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator and reheated in the oven.
