Strawberries

  • 2 whole packs of large sized strawberries

Dark Chocolate Coating

  • 2 whole dark chocolate bars (3.5 oz each)
  • 1/2 Tbsp olive oil

White Chocolate Coating

  • 2 whole white chocolate bars (3.5 oz each)
  • 1/2 Tbsp olive oil

Garnish

  • 1/2 cup mixed Valentine’s sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Prepare the strawberries: Pat the strawberries dry thoroughly with a paper towel to ensure the chocolate adheres well.
  2. Set up double boiler: Pour about an inch of water into a small pot and heat it until it reaches a simmer.
  3. Melt dark chocolate: Place a heatproof bowl on top of the pot, ensuring the bowl does not touch the water. Add the dark chocolate bars to the bowl and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat.
  4. Melt white chocolate: Repeat the melting process with a clean bowl and the white chocolate bars until fully melted. Remove from heat.
  5. Add olive oil to chocolates: Stir 1/2 tablespoon olive oil into each bowl of melted dark and white chocolate to achieve a smooth, glossy finish.
  6. Prepare dipping area: Line a cookie tray with parchment paper and set aside.
  7. Dip strawberries in dark chocolate: Holding a strawberry by the stem, dip it into the dark chocolate bowl, gently scraping off excess chocolate back into the bowl. Place the dipped strawberry onto the parchment paper.
  8. Garnish: While chocolate is still wet, sprinkle the dipped strawberries with the mixed Valentine’s sprinkles for decoration.
  9. Repeat dipping: Continue dipping and garnishing all strawberries with dark chocolate.
  10. Maintain chocolate consistency: If the chocolate thickens, place the bowl back over the simmering water and stir until smooth again.
  11. Drizzle finishing touch: Once all strawberries are dipped and the chocolate has set, drizzle leftover melted chocolate over them for added design and flavor.
